If you are into personal development, then you must be familiar with the term ‘Comfort Zone’. In case you want a proper description, Comfort Zone is a space where our behaviours and activities fit a routine and pattern, that minimizes our stress and perception of risk.
Simply put, it’s a space that seems safe but could be dangerous at the same time. Only doing something you’re familiar with will hinder your growth and make you miserable.
In Medium, many authors advocate jumping out of Comfort Zone ASAP, as that’s the only way to fulfil your life, unleash your potential and achieve greatness.
I’m not going to deny that because I’m also challenging myself one step at a time. Needless to say, I’m enjoying the process.
But I feel there’s a concern. We seem to have glorified the act of getting out of Comfort Zone — we must make changes, or else we are cowards, deserved to get stuck for the rest of our lives.
“Just get out of it now, and we can figure the details later!” Our inner voice said.
Think again.
