It’s Not Always Wrong To Burn The Bridges

Don’t burn bridges. You’ll be surprised how many times you have to cross the same river. H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

My parents taught me we must never burn the bridges because you never know what holds in the future.

Who knows, you might need help from someone you despise a few years later. So when you and someone don’t get along, you should keep a distance instead of getting into a fight. Even if you are dismissed from a job in the worst way, don’t burn the bridges with rude comments on the way out.

I used to think that makes perfect sense, never burn bridges was once my motto. We really shouldn’t make enemies after all.

Fast forward to the present day.

I’ve been in the workforce for a while, and throughout these years, there are plenty of regrets. I mourn for not starting my blog and build my personal brand aggressively earlier, and I regretted not changing my career path when I had an offer.

But if you ask me what my biggest regret is, that would be me not having the courage to burn the bridge with my ex-boss. I wrote an article earlier dedicated to her, and a few are curious about what happened back then.

Might as well share my story here.
